About Shift Portal
Shift Portal is an independent informational site published by Hraždastav s.r.o. It explains the vocabulary of free-to-play desktop games for readers in Australia, and it earns its running costs from one disclosed affiliate arrangement.
Who publishes this site
The publisher is Hraždastav s.r.o., a company registered in the Czech Republic at Husitská 107/3, Žižkov, 130 00 Praha 3, Czech Republic. The company number is 11866811 and the VAT number is CZ11866811. Correspondence of any kind, including corrections and privacy requests, reaches the publisher at info@shiftportal.online. There is no other channel: the site runs no contact form, no chat widget and no mailing list.
Pages are written and reviewed by the Hraždastav s.r.o. editorial team. No individual bylines are published, because attributing reference entries to invented personalities would tell a reader nothing true.
How coverage is decided
The scope of this site is narrow on purpose, and describing it honestly matters more than claiming a breadth that does not exist.
- Terms are selected by what a reader meets. A word earns an entry if it appears on the sign-up page, the store page, the system requirements or the patch notes of free-to-play desktop games, and if its meaning is not obvious from the word itself.
- Definitions describe category usage, not one publisher's usage. Where the industry uses a term inconsistently, the entry records the disagreement instead of resolving it.
- One product is used as the recurring worked example, and it is the product this site has a commercial relationship with. That product is World of Tanks. Shift Portal is paid a commission when a reader follows a link here to that vendor and then creates and activates an account. No other product is linked commercially, and no product is compared against it with claims this site cannot substantiate.
- Commission changes the example, not the content. It does not determine which terms are defined, how they are defined, or the order of anything on the site. A reader should treat the existence of the arrangement as a reason to check the vendor's own pages, which is what every guide here recommends.
- Product-specific facts come from the vendor or they are omitted. Prices, system requirements, store contents and classification decisions change, so this site describes how to read them rather than restating figures that will be stale within a season.
The full commercial arrangement is set out on the affiliate disclosure page.
What this site is not
Boundaries worth stating
- It is not the official site of any game, and not a partner, reseller or authorised source for any publisher.
- It is not a news outlet. Nothing here is reported, sourced from insiders, or presented as breaking.
- It is not a download site. No game files, patches or installers are hosted or mirrored here; links go to vendors' own pages.
- It does not publish reviews, scores or recommendations dressed as reader experience.
- It is not professional advice. Consumer, privacy and safety questions are pointed at the Australian bodies that actually handle them, such as the ACCC and the OAIC.
Corrections
A definition that is wrong is worse than no definition. Corrections sent to info@shiftportal.online are read by the editorial team, and a correction that holds up is applied to the page and reflected in the review date shown in the footer. Where a correction changes the substance of an entry rather than its wording, the entry says what changed.
How the site is built
Every page is static HTML with one stylesheet and one short script. There is no analytics, no advertising tag, no conversion pixel and no third-party script of any kind, so the site sets no cookies and stores nothing in a reader's browser. That is a deliberate position rather than an omission, and it is described in the cookie policy and the privacy policy. Australian English is used throughout, and dates are written in full.
