Shift Portal carries one commercial arrangement, and this page describes it completely: who pays, what the payment is for, what it influences and what it does not.
The arrangement, stated plainly
Some links on this site lead to the World of Tanks website. Those links are affiliate links. If a reader follows one and then creates and activates an account with that vendor, Shift Portal is paid a commission by the advertising programme that carries the offer. The payment comes from that programme, not from the reader.
Nothing about the reader's position changes as a result. The game's free entry point stays free, the vendor's prices and terms are identical whether a reader arrives through a link here or types the address directly, and no cost is added anywhere. A reader who prefers not to use an affiliate link can simply search for the game and go to the vendor's site independently; the information on this site is the same either way, and no page is gated behind a link.
What the commission influences
Being specific here is more useful than a denial, so both sides are set out.

How coverage is decided instead
A term earns an entry on this site if a reader meets it on a sign-up page, a store page, a system requirements page or a set of patch notes, and if its meaning is not obvious from the word itself. Nothing else decides it. The about page sets out the full editorial method, including the deliberately narrow scope: this site does not claim to survey the market, and it does not compare named products against each other, because it is not in a position to substantiate comparative claims about products it has no relationship with.
An honest narrow scope is more useful to a reader than a claimed independence that does not exist. The reasonable response to a disclosed commercial arrangement is to treat the example as an example, and to check the vendor's own pages before acting — which is the advice every guide here gives anyway.

The affiliate links on this site point directly at the destination address. They are not routed through a redirect on this domain, not assembled by a script when a reader clicks, and not hidden behind a short link: a reader can read the destination in the browser's status bar before clicking, which is how it should be. Each carries the rel attribute values that mark it as a paid link for search engines.
The example, and the link
The product is World of Tanks, a free-to-play desktop vehicle combat game, described by its vendor as an online multiplayer tank action game in which teams fight in modelled vehicles across a rotating set of maps. Its own site is the authority on its content, its system requirements and its store. Registration is a desktop activity, and the client is built for Windows, macOS and Linux.
